Tonight’s ‘go-home’ edition of Friday Night SmackDown was taped ahead of time as BackLash is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 12:30 pm ET/9:30 am PT in the US and live from the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France.
The card is headlined by Cody Rhodes’ first defense of his WWE world title against AJ Styles, a more than formidable first foe, and both men received incredible ovations from the grateful crowd. However, the segment did not really add anything to the match, not that it needs anything more at this point.
Still, Rhodes managed to pop the crowd when he broke out some French on his Dualingo flex. This was a show that was amplified because of the crowd, and this segment was no different.

The biggest thing that happened tonight was just a small segment and a brief exchange of words as Heyman admitted that he has not spoken with Roman Reigns since his loss at Mania. How can that be if Roman pulled himself out of last week’s draft (Or all the other times he evoked Roman’s name in sake of decisions)?

Heyman was scheduled to be a guest on the ‘R-KO Show,’ the first time that KO has had a co-host for his show, and just before that segment, Heyman revealed the truth about his dealings, or lack thereof, with Roman.
The segment was ultimately to serve the tag match between R-KO and The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga at tomorrow’s PLE. Heyman pleaded with anyone and everyone, including KO and Orton, to call off tomorrow’s tag match, and just as the ‘faces’ started to press Heyman on who was really leading The Bloodline, they were attacked by Sikoa and Tonga.
A-Town Down Under made their second defense of the tag team titles they won at Mania. The defense was announced last week, but unfortunately, The Street Profits were unable to secure the win.
The match was weirdly short, and the four superstars did not even get much time to work before the ending. Hopefully, this is only the start of their feud because this match has the makings to earn all the ‘stars.’
